Concert: "Chords and Voices" with Konni Deppe (vocal), Andreas Hermeyer (accordeon), Lara Schallenberg (vocal), Eddie Nünning (guitar),
Jakobikirche

The Duo "Rainbow Sleeves" with Eddie Nünning and Lara Schallenberg is a dream team, offering a whole new spectrum of possibilities for guitarist and singer. The repertoire of "Painted Songs" spans an exclusive selection of the classics from the singer/songwriter tradition (among others, from Neil Young, Elton John, Lennon/McCartney) and modern songs (among others, from Prince, Silje Neergard, Tori Amos). Together they add a new sensuous variant to the guitar/vocals duo genre.

Konni Deppe and Andreas Hermeyer were brought together by their mutual liking of the “forgotten“ side of the 20s, 30s and 40s. In 2002 the two discovered their common love of a long since forgotten jazz tradition and the special appeal of combined vocals and accordion: warm, lyrical and with a fair portion of jazz.

A multicultural professional band making the impossible possible with no need for musical instruments. Visitors to the Hansa Convention are in for a real treat: amazing vocal acrobatics, modern, diverse and with a stomping good beat. hc presents the best of R’n’B, Pop, Soul, Disco and Jazz – in its own uniquely authentic sound.

Swing Size Orchestra
open Air concert, Poststraße

Eleven good-looking gentlemen with freshly polished instruments and a charming female singer: despite the elegant appearance the twelve full-blooded musicians do not shrink back from surrendering themselves entirely to the music and no matter where they play, from energizing the dance floor. In doing so, swing dancing is not only permitted but expressly requested! With immense energy and unbridled enthusiasm the twelve top-calibre musical personalities fuse to form the one-and-only SWING SIZE ORCHESTRA! In Jens Hunstein’s enchanting arrangements the band plays the infectious Jump ’n’ Jive and Swing: pieces by Ray Charles, Louis Prima, Joe Williams, Count Basie, etc. And melodies that we all know from the TV at home but which we have never heard quite played like this before!

Late-Night-Concert Marienkirche: Ars Choralis Coeln Maria Jonas, Gregorian Chants and Early Medieval Music
With this programme, Ars Choralis Coeln, conducted by Maria Jonas, performs songs compiled from various manuscripts – all from the Cologne and Rhine region. In honour of St. Elizabeth of Thuringia, whose 800th birthday we celebrate this year, chants ring out as a prayer from the 13th century is sung at the canonical hours. The magnificent antiphonal duetting of Hildegard von Bingen enriches the liturgical singing of the officium. The simple and traditional songs from the song book of Anna von Köln, a Beguine from Cologne, round off the compline – the midnight cloister song – and bring the day to a close.

"Finnproject" - Finnish Tango Concert, Jakobikirche
with Barbara Buchholz (theremin), Anna-Katariina Holmerús (voc), Christian Beckers (p), Andreas Hermeyer (acc), Jan Krause (sampling, live-electronic)

A first encounter in the spring of 2006 inspired the theremin player Barbara Buchholz and the Finnish singer Anna-Katariina Hollmerús to bring this exceptional project about. The ensemble devotes itself to Finnish music in its own unique way, in particular to the Finnish tango. Finnland is the second-most important country in the world as regards the tango. Within the traditional sound of vocal music, accordion and piano, the theremin, the only instrument to be played without any contact being made, sounds like an electronic voice, mediating between the acoustic instruments and the electronic sounds.

Claudia Jung "Dreaming allowed"
open air concert on the town hall square
Claudia Jung is one of the most successful singers of modern music of our time. She has, after all, been performing on the stage professionally for some 20 years without experiencing any downturn in her career. She is a self-made woman who firmly holds the reins. She looks after her own affairs on both the business and creative side. She is also responsible for selecting the titles and has composed some of the texts herself.
Her ability was rewarded with the prestigious Fred Jay Prize", five “Goldene Stimmgabeln” and two Echos. As a result, she ranks as one of the absolute superstars of the popular song genre.

Ron Williams and the Bluesnight Band - from Broadway via Motown and Las Vegas, open air concert on the town hall square

His trademark is the head gear – mostly a baseball cap. Ron Williams never leaves the house without it. Whether as a satirist, presenter, singer, actor or also as a voice-over - Ron Williams is successful in many different areas and will not allow himself to be pigeon-holed. The popular entertainer is also known for his fight against racism and xenophobia.
Ron Williams has been performing with the Bluesnight Band for many years. Here a tradition-conscious Blues and R’n’B performance is given every time. On a Saturday night a “Big City Blues“ provides an entertaining and refreshing excursion starting out at Broadway, stopping off at Motown and finishing up in Las Vegas.

Mediaeval Banquet, Town Hall Council chamber
The Service-Club Round Table 133 Lippstadt-Soest extends an invitation to attend a Medieval Banquet in the historic town hall council chamber. Dirk Walter, this year’s President of the RT 133: “Where would a Hansa Convention in Lippstadt be without a decent feast and a Medieval festival in a historic setting?“
The programme includes a culinary journey through nine Hanseatic cities as well as a Medieval Market with elaborate stalls. A colourful supporting programme with sorcerers, entertainers, jesters and tumblers rounds off the festive evening.
The net proceeds from the event will benefit the “Round Table Children´s Wish e.V.“ Project. This organisation endeavours to fulfil the dearest wish of extremely sick children, a wish that without this help would remain unfulfilled.
Advance booking – cultural information at the town hall: € 40.--

acoustic fun orchestra, the best songs of the last 50 years
open air concert, Poststraße
The Acosutic Fun Orchestra is not just another cover band. Even though the musicians clearly “steal” other people’s songs, they arrange them in such a clever, fun way as is seldom heard elsewhere. It’s amazing how much fund and power a catchy tune from the last 50 years can still produce when given the AFO treatment!
And it’s precisely the band’s personal magnetism and enthusiasm for playing that win over both media critics and the public equally time and again.
You can hardly believe your ears when a completely overhauled Michael Jackson runs into a polka-recycling from Nena or Prince is overtaken in the right-hand lane by AC/DC singing a-cappella. The party mode is preprogrammed when during a Spice Girls rendition TakeThat is interrupted by Peter Maffay, with Freddy Mercury providing the crowning glory...
