Tourism is another growing sector in the Sauerland. On the tour you will see lake Möhne and get to know the quarries in Klieve, that provide the green sandstone for the churches of Lippstadt. There will be some stops during the 90 minutes walk at the Mattenklodtsteg, an old hanging bridge, on the sites of the old mills or the centre for canoe sports. A short introduction into the new art working with light also refers to the concept and motto “light-water-life” that represents Lippstadt. A walk along the light promenade starts at the Mattenklodtsteg, a hanging bridge, ending at the sluice close to the Friedrichschool. On your way you will get to know the art pieces that are already in their place and will hear about those pieces of light art of that will accomplish the light promenade.

Nicolaiweg
The wonderfully picturesque Nicolaiweg, located in the heart of the city, is one of Lippstadt’s gems. It is hardly surprising, therefore, that numerous artists live – and sometimes also work there. The street community of the Nicolaiweg invites visitors to participate in a guided street tour, an exhibition about the history of the street plus other activities.
